Harris Estate

It all began in 2003 with one man and a dream.

Here at Harris estate we strive for excellence. In 2003 the Harris Estate vineyard was established, taking advantage of the fine Waipara limestone souls and specialising only in the Pinot noir we are very proud of.  In 2019, 1 out of 11 gold medals were awarded to our 2015 Pinot noir and a silver medal was given to us for our 2014 thanks to the Royal Easter Show. We are very proud of our wine.

 

We are committed to the Greening of Waipara project - in recognition of the importance of insects to the process of creating a self-sustaining environment eliminating the use of harmful sprays. On the estate we have significant planting of local indigenous trees, shrubs and rare grasses. And our staff have been keen supporters of the wider community project.

 

2014 was an exceptional vintage for us. Hand harvesting before the rains, produced a savoury yet elegant reflection of the vintage. Over the last decade it has evolved into a unique Mediterranean style environment. Alongside the European style vineyard are olive groves and a truffiere.
